Explore the Coasts & RIVERS of England’s Northern Frontier, by stand up paddleboard.

Tell me more

Exclusively for small groups or one-to-one sessions, enjoy a stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) adventure along the spectacular Northumberland coast.

Guided by experienced SUP instructors and adventure guides, we typically explore sandy bays, dramatic cliffs, and hidden coves. Trips are typically 2-4 hours, to suit your preferences. If you prefer an inland experience, we can explore one of the county’s beautiful rivers, lakes or estuaries.

Available most mornings from 9.30am, all year round. We don’t have a fixed launch point, we’ll choose the best place on the day, taking into account the best options that day, your ability and the weather and sea conditions we expect. This will be within 45 mins drive of Alnmouth Railway Station. We can pick you up locally if you don’t have transport.

Pricing is fixed per session, rather than per person. This includes all equipment. You are welcome to use your own equipment if preferred.

  • One-to-one - £145

  • Small group of 2-4 people - £245

  • Larger group of 5-8 people - £425

All prices will incur an additional 6% booking fee at checkout.

  • We meet at a mutually agreed location, where you’ll meet your guides, get kitted up, and go over the session plan and safety briefing. We then launch onto the water for a gentle warm up. Then it’s off to paddle along the coastline, taking in the changing scenery, sea birds, and (if we’re lucky) seals popping up to say hello.

Along the way, we’ll pause to explore quiet inlets, enhance our SUP skills, and take time to soak up the calm and beauty of the surroundings. You can choose a relaxed or more athletic pace to suit your needs.

  • Yes — we provide paddleboard, paddle, buoyancy aid, leash and accessories. We have 3mm wetsuits, 5mm wetsuits and drysuits available. If you prefer to use your own board or wetsuit, just let us know in advance.

You will need your base layer, a towel, water bottle, and warm clothes for after. Even on sunny days, the North Sea can feel fresh!

There are often no indoor changing facilities where we get in and out, so you should be comfortable changing outdoors with a towel or robe.

  • Prior paddleboarding experience is recommended if you want to explore the coast, but we can tailor the session to accommodate all abilities.

People with zero prior experience may be limited to sheltered estuaries and harbours, to ensure the experience remains enjoyable and safe.

  • The session is led by Simon Laing and/or Sonja Baer. Both are experienced adventure guides with professional SUP instructor qualifications. You can read more about them on our ‘Our team’ page.

If you prefer a woman guide, please do let us know in advance and we’ll ensure Sonja leads the trip.

  • Scroll down to the booking calendar below. Availability is shown live, and payment is quick and secure.
